What POL represents
POL (ex-MATIC) (POL) is available in network-specific native or token forms. POL is the Polygon ecosystem token used for Polygon PoS gas and staking functions. Legacy MATIC labels and POL contracts on other networks require explicit representation checks.
Native POL origin
POL is recorded as native on Polygon. Native status describes the ledger balance and gas behavior on that network, not every token carrying the ticker.
POL forms away from the origin
Contract forms are recorded on Ethereum, Polygon zkEVM, Arbitrum. Each form needs its own address, wallet, and network check.
POL network-by-network inventory
Ethereum (contract), Polygon zkEVM (contract), Arbitrum (contract), Polygon (native)
POL recorded token precision
The contract representations currently share one recorded decimal format, but contract identity and network still require independent verification.
Receiving POL without a network mismatch
Confirm the POL network, contract or native label, and receiving address before using a route. Do not identify POL solely by ticker; verify the asset and network representation. Native POL and token representations on other networks are not interchangeable.
Routes arriving as POL
ARB → POL, AVAX → POL, BNB → POL, BTC → POL, DAI → POL, DOGE → POL, ETH → POL, HYPE → POL, LINK → POL, OP → POL
Routes spending POL
POL → ARB, POL → AVAX, POL → BNB, POL → BTC, POL → DAI, POL → DOGE, POL → ETH, POL → HYPE, POL → LINK, POL → OP
POL privacy and wallet linking
Approvals, token transfers, wallet reuse, amounts, timing, and later consolidation can remain visible. Private Route availability and identity requirements must be checked separately.
