Private Crypto Swap Mechanics: A Route Guide

Learn the route model behind privacy-focused swaps, the difference between support and availability, and the observations that can remain.

What you need to know

A route, not an eraser

A privacy-focused swap changes how a supported route is structured where offered. It does not delete the source transaction, destination transaction, wallet history, token contracts, or records held by providers and infrastructure.

Standard route support comes first

The source and destination assets must have a verified executable route. Static privacy pages use that support matrix, but they do not infer live Private Route status.

Availability is evaluated at quote time

The exact networks, assets, amount, provider conditions, route capacity, and applicable requirements determine whether the privacy-focused option appears in the live flow.

Direct association reduction

Where offered, the intended benefit is to reduce an obvious direct association between the wallet supplying funds and the wallet receiving output. This is narrower than anonymity.

Observable source and destination data

Addresses, amounts, timing, token movements, approvals, fees, contract interactions, and later wallet behavior can remain observable. Different parties can see different subsets of this information.

Why no absolute claim is accurate

Analysis can combine blockchain data with provider, wallet, exchange, infrastructure, and voluntarily shared information. A route cannot responsibly promise that activity is invisible, untraceable, record-free, or free of requirements.

Private Crypto Swap Mechanics: A Route Guide FAQs

Is Private Route the same as an anonymous swap?

No. It is an exposure-reduction route option where supported, not an anonymity guarantee.

Why can availability change?

Exact route inputs, amount, providers, capacity, and current conditions can change.

Does the route remove provider observations?

No. Providers and infrastructure may still observe or retain information relevant to their part of the workflow.
