A private cross-chain swap combines asset conversion or bridge delivery with a route intended to reduce a direct relationship between source and destination wallets where supported.
Two ledgers, two records
The source chain records its deposit or contract interaction, while the destination chain records delivery. Each network has its own transaction identifier, address model, gas, and explorer data.
The middle of the route
A provider may use bridge contracts, liquidity, messages, solvers, or multiple transactions. These mechanics affect what can be correlated and what the provider can observe.
Cross-chain correlation
Known route infrastructure, close timing, distinctive amounts, and reused addresses can associate endpoints. Different chains add analytical work but do not create automatic anonymity.
Mechanics change the evidence
A lock-and-mint bridge can expose a deposit and a corresponding mint, while a liquidity route may deliver from inventory. Burn-and-mint systems add a source burn, message or attestation, and destination mint. Solvers and batching can alter the path, but each public endpoint still deserves separate review.
Example: Ethereum to Solana
On Ethereum, inspect the sender, token approval, router call, logs, and gas. On Solana, inspect the signature, fee payer, programs, accounts, mint, and token-account changes. Identical values are supporting evidence, not automatic proof, unless a route message or provider mechanism supplies the link.
Private Route availability
Availability must be checked for the exact pair, amount, and current provider conditions. A verified standard bridge does not prove that the privacy option is currently offered.
How to read the evidence
A cross-chain review should create two evidence lists: what the source ledger records and what the destination ledger records. Then add the bridge or provider mechanism connecting them. Different address formats and execution models change the investigation, but they do not remove the endpoints. Timing and amount matches deserve cautious language unless a message, contract field, or provider record supplies a direct connection.
